Description	:	Charles William Striggow, son of Carl and Hazel Striggow, was born March 30, 1935, at Davenport, Neb. He graduated from Nelson Community High School and then enlisted in the United States Army for a term of five years, from 1953-1958. He was stationed overseas, in Germany. Read More	Charles William Striggow, son of Carl and Hazel Striggow, was born March 30, 1935, at Davenport, Neb. He graduated from Nelson Community High School and then enlisted in the United States Army for a term of five years, from 1953-1958. He was stationed overseas, in Germany. He was married to Charlene Miller and to this union four children were born. Following his years in service of his country during the Korean War period he was employed at Clay Center and Superior. He joined a carnival company where he traveled a route between Minnesota and Texas. In 1983 he was stricken with cancer and he fought this dreaded illness until Sept. 17, when he died at Grand Island Veterans Hospital. He is survived by his mother, Hazel; his children, Colleen, Cheryle, Craig and Curtis; two grandchildren, Bandit Batier and Maverick Batier; brothers, Allen of Olympia, Wash., and Larry Striggow, Superior; sisters, Mrs.Don Colgrove (Bonnie) of Superior, Mrs. Don Hansen (Mona) of Davenport; Shirley Jacobitz of Hastings, Mrs. Eugene Schott (Jean), Rossville, Kan., and Mrs. Don Andelt (June) of Osceola; many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, who died April 8, 1962. The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Superior. The Rev. Richard Atherton officiated. Graveside military honors were given by Warren Fletcher, American Legion Post No. 248. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery. Striggow, 49, of Superior died Monday, September 17, in the Veterans Medical Center in Grand Island. Services were Friday, September 21, at 2 p.m. in Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Superior with the Rev. Richard Atherton officiating. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery with military rights that graveside. Mr. Striggow was born March 30, 1935, at Davenport. He had been a Superior resident for many years and was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of the VFW in Superior and the American Legion in Nelson. He is survived by two daughters, Colleen of Florida and Cheryle of Texas; sons, Craig and Curtis, both of Florida; his mother, Hazel Striggow of Superior; two brothers, Alan of Olympia, Washington, and Larry of superior; five daughters, Mrs. Don (Bonnie) Colgrove of Superior, Mrs. Don (Mona) Hansen of Davenport, Shirley Jacobitz of Hastings, Mrs. Eugene (Jean) Schott of Roscoe, Kansas, and Mrs. Don (Jane (sic)) Andelt of Osceola; and two grandsons.
