Read More	Funeral Services for Charles Wolf Largely Attended Charles Wolf, for many years a citizen of the Gardner community and a pioneer of Custer and Huerfano counties, died at his home at South Bradford, at eleven o'clock Tuesday night, November 15. While the news of Mr. Wolf's death came as a shock to the community it was not unexpected, for he had been in poor health for a number of years. He had taken a severe cold early in November, and on election day pneumonia developed, which resulted in his death a week later. Mr. Wolf came to this country when he was eighteen years of age. He was born in Weilheim, Germany, March 26, 1865. He was the son of Paul and Augusta Wolf. His mother dies when he was but six months old. He was cared for by his grandmother until he left his native land to come to America. Mr Wolf landed in New York in 1883. After remaining there a short time, he came to Custer County, Colorado where he lived for two years. Then coming to Huerfano County he settled on the homestead where he resided until his death. Mr. Wolf engaged extensively in farming ans stock raising. When his health began to fail, he had to give up his work, but still remained on the ranch and held his interests there. Chas.. Wolf was married at Walsenburg, Colorado on Feb. 23, 1899, to Effie Hughes of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is survived by his wife and three children, one son, Paul wolf, who resides on the home place, and two daughters Mrs. Frank Hulsey of Walsenburg and Mrs. Walter Baker of Gardner. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. A procession of friends and the family accompanied the body from the home to the Sacred Heart church in Gardner, Friday norming. The funeral services were conducted at ten o'clock, by Rev. Paul Blennoni head of the Sacred Heart Church, who said Requiem High Mass. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. A Large crowd attended the services and followed the remains to the Gardner cemetery, where the burial was in the family lo, by the side of relatives, who have preceded him to the Great Beyond. The Pall Bearers were C. Christensen, W.P. Garritson, Chas, Schmidt, Jesse Roache, H.T. Meyer and John A. Meyer. Furphy Bros Mortuary had charge of the funeral arrangements. Menzel, Mrs Emma Richardson, all of Westcliffe, Mrs. J.W. Ferguson and Arthur Randolph of Pueblo, Mr and Mrs. Pete Blocter, Hr. Joe Murray Jr., Mrs and Mrs. E. B. Mockmore, Mrs. Tom Workman, Miss Ethel workman, Mrs Martin Ariano, Mrs. Martha Thorne, Messrs. Adolph Unfug Sr., H. Danford, W.W. Hammond, Mr and Mrs. Andrew Schafer Sr., all of Walsenburg.
