Charley is survived by his brother Everett Ford , and sister Myrtle Ford , his sons Calvin Ford an wife Audrey, Randy Ford and wife Judy, Tim Ford and wife LaVerne, Chris Ford and friend Lenard Lenhart of Sacramento, and his step-son Jack Anderson. His daughters Diane Harvey and husband Glenn of Reno Nevada, Karen Ek and husband Paul of Willits and Linda Reames and husband Elvin of Pioneer. Sixteen grandchildren, Scott Ford , Travis Ford and wife Renee of Eureka, Larry Wayne Ford , Trevor Ek, Vince and Shane Reames of Stockton, George, Allan and Cindy Ford , Deanna Mashek of Reno Nev. , Monica Arruda of Reno Nev., Tina Cloney and husband Jun of Redding, Kim Bradley of lone, Bobby and Billy Close and Patty Durbin, Lynette Cowan of Fremont. Charley also leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren. Charley was born January 19, 1918 in Willits Calif. Charley lived in Bayside as a teenager and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his father as a young man. Charley served in the US Army, and he was a proud veteran of his country. Charley was honored to be a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church on 819-15th St. in Eureka. Charley worked at many jobs during his younger years. When Charley was 17 yeas old he worked in the woods in Garberville, worked for Mr. Worthen, lived in Fields Landing and worked in the Shingle Mill for Oscar Johanson. Charley later drove truck hauling maganize orr out of the Blue Jay Mine for Lou Hess. Charley spent over 38 years as a foreman and cat operator for LA Ford and Sons. Charley later operated his own business, CH Ford , doing cat work in Humboldt County, Willow Creek, and Salyer. Charley loved operating his D4 Cat, he could spread dirt like a baker frosting a cake. Charley 's sons and daughters had the pleasure of benefiting from his excellent cat work for their own summer property and homes. Charley was a man of his word, if he said he was going to do something , he did it. If Charley said he was going to be there at a certain time, he was there, you could set your clock by him. Charley was a loving father, brother and grandfather, he will be missed by his family. Charley leaves behind many cousins, nephews, nieces. Charley 's special friends were numerous, but we would like to mention Barney and Katherine Cox, Larry Ford Jr., Joe Luiz and Carl Barkley. We would also like to thank Dr. Mathews, Dr. Thomas Rydz, Dr. Dietz, Dr. William Ashley, and Saint Joseph's Hospitals for their care and compassion during our fathers illness, and a special thank you to Patty and Teresa for their kind and loving care while Dad was back home for a short time. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Pierce Chapel 707 H St. Eureka between 1 to 5 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday May 30, 2002. Services will be held at Pierce Chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday May 31, 2002. Gravesite ceremony following at Sunset Cemetery in Eureka. Reception to follow at the First Covenant Church on 2526 J St. in Eureka. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to University's Scleroderma Research Center, UCSF San Francisco Dermatology Dept. C/O Kari Connolly, MD.
