Jones, 88, of Mouth of Wilson, the Fox Creek Community, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Anderson Jones. Jones, 88, of Mouth of Wilson, the Fox Creek Community, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Anderson Jones. He was born Sept. 7, 1914, in Mouth of Wilson to George and Vergie Sparks Jones. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bronson and Hazel Jones of Independence; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Faye West of Independence, and Leola and Ray James and Carol and Jim Richardson, all of Mouth of Wilson; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kenneth Jones, Charles and Vickie Jones and Shelia and Jeff Bolt, all of Independence; five great-grandchildren, Samantha Jones, Shanna Jones, Miranda Bolt, Kendra Bolt and Madison Bolt; two sisters-in-law, Annie Smith of Flat Ridge and Cora Jones of Independence; a special niece, Jean Holdaway of Marion; a special nephew, Ebby Richardson of Mouth of Wilson; and several other nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Friday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, with burial in the Pine Branch Cemetery, Mouth of Wilson. The Revs. Don Ball and George Russell officiated.
