Steinke, 94 years, of Fremont, Nebraska, was called home Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont with family surrounding her. Charlotte was born July 23, 1920 on a farm south of Oakdale, Nebraska to Henry and Helen (Emde) Suhr. Charlotte married Bernard Steinke February 24, 1944 at Rock Island, Illinois. She lived in Fremont most of her life. Charlotte was a charter member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Fremont where she served in several capacities. She is survived by her husband, Bernard; sons, George and wife, Nancy Steinke of Lakewood, Colorado and Richard and wife, Terry Steinke of Orlando, Florida; daughters, Susan and husband, Bob Allan of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ila and husband, John Nelson of Wahoo, Nebraska and Reba Bergt of Schuyler, Nebraska; brothers, Marvin and wife, Virginia Suhr of Fremont and Norman Suhr of Peninsula, Ohio; sisters, Mildred Kinnan of Oakdale, Nebraska, and Elaine Varner of Keokuk, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lorraine Jones. Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 13, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Timothy Gierke will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 PM to 6 PM, Sunday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and 1 hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, March of Dimes or Merrick Manor. (mosermemorialchapels.com/obituary)
