Interment at the Old Kirk cemetery, Almonte. 1935, Thursday August 15, The Ottawa Journal, page 23 Many Mourn Passing of Mrs James Emerson Special to The Journal CARLETON PLACE, Aug 14 - The funeral of Charlotte Edith McCallum, wife of James Emerson, of Carleton Place, who died on Sunday at her home in Bridge street, was held yesterday afternoon to St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, where service was conducted by Rev James Foote. The church where she had been a devout worshipper for many years, was filled with friends of all denominations who paid final tribute to the memory of one who had endeared herself to those with whom she came in contact. Interment was made in the Auld Kirk cemetery on the 8th line of Ramsay. Among the chief mourners were her husband; sons, Eric, of Calgary; Clarence, of Detroit; William, of Ottawa; Dawson, of Capreol; Clyde, of Carleton Place; sisters, Mrs F.O. Maguire, of Ottawa; Mrs T. Cox, of Edmonton; Mrs James McFarlane, of Perth, and Miss Jessie McCallum, of Carleton Place. The pallbearers were four sons and two nephews, Clarence, Eric, Dawson and William Emerson; Arnold McFarlane and Gordon Maguire. Numerous floral offerings and messages of sympathy were received by the bereaved family, attesting to the high esteem in which she was held.
