She fell downstairs at her home a month ago and had never recovered from the shock. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wolfe & Gourley funeral parlor, with the Rev. W.F. Clayburg, pastor of the local Methodist church, in charge. Burial was in the Villisca cemetery. Mrs. A.F. Davis and Mrs. Harry Tyler sang for the last rites, with the piano accompaniment by Miss Dorothy Liken. Pallbearers were James Goodwin, Wes Stallings, Wm. Dow, Hugh Wheelock, J.W. Delaney and Chas. Henry. Charlotte M. Rouse was born on Nov. 16, 1858, at Churdan (sic), Iowa. She was married in 1876 to Phyletus Willson, and two children were born to them: Walter M. of Topeka, Kans., and Mrs. Daisy D. Pierson of Sidney, Iowa. Her husband died in 1910 and she later married John Wasson who also died several years ago. On Sept. 6, 1924, she was united in marriage with Thos. B. Darnold in Red Oak. Besides her husband, Mrs. Darnold leaves two sisters, Mrs. Carter Goodkin of Maryville, Mo., and another at Churdan, Ia., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Mrs. Daisy D. Pierson, Sidney, was here to attend the funeral. - - - - - Charlotte's family lived in Franklin Township, Des Moines County, Iowa in the 1856 and 1860 Census. Charlotte was born in 1858. Sibling born in 1861 born in Des moines County. Two marriage certificates state place of birth Des Moines County, Iowa. By 1870 they were living in Chariton, Lucas County, Iowa. Obiituary has Churdon and death certificate has Charidon. I believe she was born in Des Moines County, Iowa (SE corner of Iowa) and later (about 1865) moved to Chariton, Lucas County, Iowa (south central Iowa). Charlotte married Philetus Wilson in 11 April 1875 in Lucas County, Iowa. John Wasson 3 July 1912 Montgomery County, Iowa. Thomas Darnold 3 Sept 1925 Montgomery County, Iowa. NOTE: Her name is spelled Scharlotte on her headstone.
