Wieneke, one of the older residents of the Olean community, were held Friday afternoon at the family home just north of Olean. The Rev. A.L. Alexander officiated at the services and interment was at the Olean Cemetery under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home. Accompanied by her daughter, Louise, Mrs. Wieneke had gone to Helena the earlier part of January to spend two months with her sisters, Mrs. W.K. Monroe and Mrs. Harriet E. Moore, as she had done in recent winters. Mrs. Wieneke, the former Miss Charlotte Moore, was born in California, Mo., April 6, 1866, the daughter of the late John W. and Charlotte Curtis Moore. She was married to H.A. Wieneke on February 11, 1889, and moved to Olean as a bride. The Wienekes lived in Olean until 1903 when they moved to California where they remained until 1914. That year they returned to Olean to make their home on the family farm where they remained throughout their lifetimes. They observed their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1939. Mr. and Mrs. Wieneke were the parents of seven children: Harold, Louise, John, Henry, Charlotte, Phillip and Richard. Surviving are four children, Louise of the home; Henry of Hamilton, Ohio, Charlotte, now Mrs. William H. Bodamer, Olean, and Richard of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Maj. Gen. Richard C. Moore of Monterey, Calif.; two sisters, Miss Harriet E. Moore and Mrs. W.K. Monroe of Helena, Ark.; two grandchildren, Mrs. George Blakemore of El Paso, Tex., and Richard Lee Wieneke of Seattle, Wash. Mr. Wieneke, postmaster at Olean for many years, preceded his wife in death February 13, 1947. Three children also preceded her in death; Harold in 1901, Phillip in 1915, and John in September 1948. Mrs. Wieneke was a charter member of the Olean Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers at the funeral service were John Gattermeir, Almon Gattermeir, Howard McMillin, Heaton Hayes, Alton Hendricks and Priest Allee.
