She was born Jan. 16, 1933 in Bentonville, one of nine children of Orville and Blanche Brake Applegeet. On Sept. 8, 1951, she married Forest "Bud" Kidd and they raised five children: Danny, Richard, Donna, Doug and Dianne. Kidd, 79, of Liberty, passed away peacefully Friday evening, May 4, 2012, at her residence. She was born Jan. 16, 1933 in Bentonville, one of nine children of Orville and Blanche Brake Applegeet. On Sept. 8, 1951, she married Forest "Bud" Kidd and they raised five children: Danny, Richard, Donna, Doug and Dianne. For many years, she was employed as one of the original cooks at the Hickory Lane Smorgasbord and later she was employed at Willows Restaurant. She was a member of Alquina United Methodist Church and Bentley Biscuit Club. A devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed helping with family 4-H projects and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Forest "Bud" Kidd; five children, Danny Kidd (Paula), Richard Kidd (Debra) and Donna Garrett, all of Connersville, Doug Kidd (and companion, Kathy Vest), of Rushville, and Dianne Dudley (David) of West College Corner; 11 grandchildren, Randy Kidd, Larry Garrett, Mike Kidd, Nathan Garrett, Eric Kidd, Sarah Rudicil, Julia Hornsby, Emily Kidd, Mandy Wolf, Kyle Dudley and Curt Dudley; two step grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; two sisters, Carolyn Clark of Williamsburg and Sharon Blomeyer (Roy) of Richmond; a sister-in-law, Marceille Applegeet of Franklin; a brother-in-law, Noel Dean Steinard of Everton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ronald Applegeet and Bill Applegeet; and four sisters, Virginia Kuehn, Vivien Moore, Joyce Seifert and Janet Steinard. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, Connersville, with Rev. Mark Powell officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County 4-H Support Group or to the Fayette County Cancer Fund.
