Mr. Britton was born May 10, 1888, at LeMars [to Orris Lyman & Nellie (Cook) Britton]. He had farmed near Seney until moving to Alton in 1941. He married Viola Mae Osborne on Jan. 25, 1915, at Seney. Survivors are his wife, Viola Mae; two daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Ethel) Schneider of Paullina, and Mrs. William (Earlynne) Frerichs of Alton; a son, Earl of Sheldon; five (half-)sisters and three (half-)brothers [children of Orrie & Birdie (Darvill) Britton]. Also surviving are four grandchildren, John and Linda Britton of Sheldon and Karen and Nancy Frerichs of Alton; and an aunt, Mrs. Minnie (Cook) Bowen of Maurice.
