Description	:	Chester L. Brown, 91, of Cedar Creek (northwest of Salem), died Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant. Born October 14, 1915, on the family farm, he was the son of Emerson and Annis Belle (McDowell) Brown. On June 11, 1955, he married Phyllis (Jacobs) Ford in Memphis, Missouri. Previously on November 14, 1937, he married Virginia Lee Lessenger. Mr. Brown was a farmer. Born October 14, 1915, on the family farm, he was the son of Emerson and Annis Belle (McDowell) Brown. On June 11, 1955, he married Phyllis (Jacobs) Ford in Memphis, Missouri. Previously on November 14, 1937, he married Virginia Lee Lessenger. Mr. Brown was a farmer. He was a member of Cedar Creek Friends Church, Moose Lodge of Mount Pleasant, National Farmers Organization, and Salem Rodeo Saddle Club. Survivors include his wife Phyllis of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Phyllis Williams of Quartzsite, Arizona; one stepdaughter Sharyl VanDorin of Mount Pleasant; one stepson Dennis Ford of Mount Pleasant; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and his sister Lena Burkey of Mount Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother. His funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 19th at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Don Coffin officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.
