Read More	Chilla Venita Carr, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the age of 93 years. Chilla was born on November 16, 1916 at Pitman, West Virginia. She resided in Lilly Park, West Virginia until her health declined due to a broken hip, where she then resided at a Fayette County Nursing Facility. Chilla was the daughter of the late, Virgie Myrtle Lewis and Alpheus Calvin Carr. She is survived by her sister, Lilly Isabelle Carr Bass of Florida, sisters-in-laws, Dorothy Helen Carr of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Betty Carr of Rainelle, West Virginia. Chilla attended Rupert High School and was valedictorian of the Class of 1938. In the 1940's, Chilla was a machinist for the Wright Aeronautical Industries in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon returning home, she was employed as an inspector by Greenbrier Industries. She also worked for the Green Thumb Program, until she was 82 years of age. Chilla was a member of the Rainelle Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Chilla was avid reader, loved gardening and talking about her family members to all who would listen. She was an extremely hard worker and devoted to those within her circle. Chilla never married nor did she ever have any children of her own. She served as Aunt to Kristina Carr Walker of Alto, Georgia and her brother, Mike Carr of Rupert, West Virginia. She also helped care for Curtis Cutlip of Rupert, West Virginia. Kristina, Mike and Curtis are the children of Elizabeth Cutlip. Chilla provided for her nieces and nephews, the children of Clifford "Bunk" and Betty Carr. Chilla will most certainly be remembered by her nieces and nephew, the children of Dorothy Helen and Carroll Carl "Boodles" Carr, Sr., for the many things, she did to effect their lives. She will always been remember by them. The obituary states she was born in Landisburg, Fayette County, West Virginia, that is incorrect. The only two children of Virgie Lewis and Alpheus Carr born in Landisburg, West Virginia were Carroll Carl "Boodles" Carr and Lilly Isabaelle Carr Bass.
