Read More	SOURCE: THE WYOMING JOURNAL, WYOMING, IOWA, THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 1926, PAGE 4 CHRIS BRAMER The community is again called upon to mourn the death of another of her upright and substantial citizens, in the person of Chris Bramer, who passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, March 2nd, 1926. The span of his life was seven one years, seven months and twelve daye. Chris Bramer, subject of this sketch, was born in Holtensee, Hanover, Germany, July 7th, 1854, and came to America in 1873. He was baptized in Germany in the Lutheran Church in his younger days. On February 27th, 1881, he married Ida Burmahl at Fairfield, Jackson County, Iowa. They moved to a farm east of Oxford Junction, where they lived for three years. In 1884 they moved to Madison township and in 1895 bought the Spencer farm at Steam Mill Corners, where they resided for fifteen years. In 1910 he retired from the farm and came to Wyoming where he has since lived. They spent many happy years in establishing the home. Truly an ideal home, rich in hospitality and an inspiration to his friends who frequented it. Mr. Bramer's keenest pleasures, his happiest hours were spent within his own home. He took the greatest interest in the plans of his children and in return they knew no better place to come for counsel and complete understanding than to their father. Mr. Bramer was eminently successful in his chosen work. A man respected and loved by all; a man of the highest sense of honor and integrity. Always quiet and unassuming, a true friend to those in need, his words were few, but he leaves behind him a life filled with golden deeds. Mr. Bramer leaves to mourn, his devoted wife, seven sons August F., John C , Ed. H., Will C., Fred C., Harry L., all of Wyoming, and one daughter, Mrs. Marie Countryman, of Dodge Center, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Strohmeyer, of Preston and eight nephews and three neice. Funeral services were held trom the M. E. Church, Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. H. Bowder of Lisbon, a former pastor of this church. Rev. Joseph Yates, pastor of this church, assisted. Appropriate music was rendered by W. J. Beckwith, A. A. Vaughn and R. D. Cooley, with Mrs. Anne Schelley at the piano. The six older sons were in charge of the casket. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery. The relatives and friends from a distance who were in attendance are Henry Schlemma and wife, Louis Ringen of Preston; Henry Burmal and wife of Andrew; John Eckelberg and wife of Spragueville; Will Neinkerk and wife of Maquoketa; Leo Fowler of Detroit; Harry Fowler of Miles; Charles and Louis Pankow of Clinton; J. J. Locher and wife of Monticello.
