Ida Anna Wilhelmina Burmahl was born at Northfield, Cook county, Illinois, April 25, 1862, She was baptized in the Lutheran faith Jan 8, 1862. Later the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Burmahl, moved to Jackson county Iowa. She was corfirmed in the Lutheran doctrine and faith, March 29, 1874 in the Summerhill school house near Spragueville. Ida Anna Wilhelmina Burmahl was born at Northfield, Cook county, Illinois, April 25, 1862, She was baptized in the Lutheran faith Jan 8, 1862. Later the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Burmahl, moved to Jackson county Iowa. She was corfirmed in the Lutheran doctrine and faith, March 29, 1874 in the Summerhill school house near Spragueville. On Feb. 27, 1881, she was united in holy matrimony with Mr. Christ Bramer at Fairfield, Iowa. Having lived on a farm near Oxford Junction for three years, they moved to Madison township in 1884. In 1910 the couple retired from active farm life and moved to Wyoming, where they established a home and Mrs. Bramer lived when death called her. Her life's companion was called from her side, March 2nd 1926. Mrs. Bramer proved to be a kind, loving mother, and rejoiced to have her children's children gather about her in the home. She was concerned about her family and would make many sacrifices for them. She was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary and The Woman's Relief Corps. She was an active member of Zion's Ev. Lutheran Church at Wyoming and of the Lutheran Ladies Aid Society. During the days of her illness she was submissive and patient, She had been failing for some time, but it was not until Oct. 16th that she became bedfast. She received the loving care of her pwn and friends, but human help and skill could not prolong her life. The creator and Lord called her Monday morning, Nov. 2, 193l, at 9:18 o'clock. Mrs. Bramer leaves to mourn her demise, seven sons: August, Lew, John, EJ, Will, Fred and Harry, all of or near Wyoming; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Countryman of Dodge Center, Minnesota; fifteen grand children; one great grand child; four sisters: Mrs. William Nienkerk and Mrs. Fred Loitz of Maquoketa, Mrs Lew Riogen of Preston, and Mrs. John VonSpreecken of Wyoming; three brothers: Henry Burmahl of Andrew, John and August of Preston. One daughter, Minnie, three sisters and one brother preceded her death. Besides these she will be missed by a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held from the home at 1:30 and at the Lutheran church at 2;00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and were in charge of the Rev. E. L. Arhelger, pastor of the church. Appropriate music was rendered by the choir. The floral gifts bespeak the esteem of the departed. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery. Relatives and friends had come from far and near: Preston, Andrew, Spragueville, Maquoketa and elsewhere.
