She has been ill for a number of months at her late home in Seattle, Washington, and passed away Saturday. Her husband and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sweney, and a sister, Mrs. Kildee, accompanied the body here. The funeral was held at the Sweney home on State Street at 10 o'clock Tuesday Morning. Those from away who were present at the service were: Mrs. K. S. Sno, Miss Katherine Scammon and miss Virginia Sweney, all of Northwood; Mrs. C. P. Reevs of Glenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. G. I. Sweney of Peoria, Ill. Christable [sic] Augusta Sweney, daughter of Charles and Annie E. Sweney was born at Mitchell, Iowa, December 7, 1868. She grew to young womanhood in Osage and was educated in the public schools and Cedar Valley Seminary. She was married October 13, 1888 to John C. Eden, who was then engaged in railroad work at St. Paul. After living for varying periods in other cities they moved to Seattle, which has been their home for a dozen or more years. Her love and affection for her old home, for her family and for her former friends, have made her a frequent visitor to Osage, her last visit here having been something over a year ago. Early in last July, her parents were called to Seattle by her serious illness, which no effect of medical skill nor labor of love was able to relieve. Her father, mother and sister Ruth were with her when she passed away the eve of Thursday, November 18, 1915. She was brought by her husband, accompanied by her father, mother, and sister, to Osage for burial, arriving Monday, November 22. This is, for her, a final earthly homecoming. She will rest in the family lot at the Osage cemetery beside her little brother, Harry, who passed on many years ago. She is survived by her husband, John C. Eden of Seattle, her parents, brother, Marshall of Osage, and by her sister, Mrs. H. H. Kildee of Ames. From FAG Contributor: L Winslow
