Description	:	Mrs. Jens Jensen Mrs. Christina (sic) Jensen, wife of Jens Jensen, died at her home in Nelson Tuesday morning. Mrs. Jensen has been an invalid for some considerable time and she was 75 years, 4 months and 7 days old at the time of her death. She was born in Vislanda, Sweden, February 3, 1849. Deceased leaves the husband, four sons and a daughter to mourn her death. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, June 12, 1924; pg. 1 ========= Miss Christina (sic) Olson was born February 3, 1849, Vislanda, Sweden, and died at home in Nelson June 10, 1924, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 7 days. She came to American in 1869 at the agoe of 20. Was married to Mr. Jens Jensen May 10, 1871, at Warren, Penn. They lived in Pennsylvania seven years, removing from there to Shelby county (sic), Iowa, in 1878. After eleven years residence in Iowa, they came to Nebraska locating on a farm nine and a fourth miles northwest of Nelson, where they lived for seventeen years removing from the farm to the town of Nelson, where they have lived since, during the period of eighteen years. To this union were born six children, one of which, William, preceded his mother to the land of Perfect Day. Those remaining to mourn the loss of a good mother, are: Chris E. of Nelson; Edward F. of Long Beach, California; Albert F. Nelson; Olaf L. Hastings; and Mrs. Ann Telena Laird, Holstein. Three brothers and one sister are living: John H. Olson, Sweeden (sic); Charlie Olson, Dweiser, Idaho; Swend Olson, Germany; Mrs. Ingry Micklenberg, Hoboken, N.J. Besides the children and friends, the husband will miss her most of all. How well did they blend each other's love and purposes during this long period of their married life. But God calls his children home unto himself and she has answered the summons. A life's race well run and now comes rest. Mrs. Jensen was brought up in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord in her old home in Sweden, where she had learned large portions of the Word of God by memory and treasured it in her heart. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church and was a consistent Christian. She united with the Presbyterian church (sic) of Nelson at the same time as her husband re-affirming her Faith in Christ on January 28th, 1906, and was a regular attendant at the worship of the Sanctuary until sickness prevented her coming any longer. Her Faith in God was steady and unwavering during the long period of her illness; confined to the house for many years, yet she was able to keep faithful to all the interests of her church. She was a good mother, bringing her children up in the atmosphere of godly things; training them in the things that pertain to the Kingdom. She will be missed by her circle of friends who shall cherish tenderly her memory. "To live in hearts that are left behind is not do die." Her well-thumbed Bible with turned down leaves indicated that this Book was to her a real comfort and guide of life. A dear one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our midst, Which never can be filled.
