Description	:	OBITUARY MALMBERG Mrs. C. J. Malmberg (Kristina) (Christena S. Magneson) died at the home in Essex, Iowa, Tuesday, June 23, 1903, after an illness of about a week. The deceased was born in Jonkopings lan, Sweden on the 14th of March, 1846. She was married to C. J. Malmberg in 1865 and came to this country in 1869, moving to the farm in 1872, where she died. J. Malmberg (Kristina) (Christena S. Magneson) died at the home in Essex, Iowa, Tuesday, June 23, 1903, after an illness of about a week. The deceased was born in Jonkopings lan, Sweden on the 14th of March, 1846. She was married to C. J. Malmberg in 1865 and came to this country in 1869, moving to the farm in 1872, where she died. Of a family of twelve children, eight are living, four boys and four girls, all of whom were at the funeral. Mrs. Malmberg has always been a very healthy woman and her sickness was of short duration. She died from a very serious bowel and stomach trouble. The funeral was held Wednesday at the home at 1:00 PM and the body buried in the Essex Cemetery. Rev. L. Larson preaching the sermon. Although the lady had lived almost the average life, still it was too bad that she could not be spared a few more years so that she could enjoy the comfort of one of the nicest homes that Essex has, which is now under construction. The new home will not seem right without the mother for whom it was being built. In the matter of attendance, this was one of the largest funerals ever held in this part of the country. The family has the sympathy of a very large circle of friends. We learn that the real cause of death was gangrene of the intestines. Information found in The Essex Independent, June 26, 1903.
