Description	:	Christena Phillippi was born in Rockwood, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, February 28, 1861, and passed away at her home in Muscotah, Kansas, April 2, 1945, at the age of 84 years, one month and one day. When a child of twelve years, she came to Kansas and lived with her uncle, Norman Phillipi, until her marriage to Mr. Frank Woodward in the year 1878. Read More	Christena Phillippi was born in Rockwood, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, February 28, 1861, and passed away at her home in Muscotah, Kansas, April 2, 1945, at the age of 84 years, one month and one day. When a child of twelve years, she came to Kansas and lived with her uncle, Norman Phillipi, until her marriage to Mr. Frank Woodward in the year 1878. Mr. and Mrs. Woodward lived on a farm south of Whiting, where they reared a family of six children. Mr. Woodward and one son, Daniel, preceded her in death. After Mr. Woodward's death in 1929, Mrs. Woodward and her two sons, Albert and Edward, moved to Muscotah, which has since been her home. In the year 1911, Mrs. Woodward joined the Christian Church in Whiting, Kans., and although bedfast for about three years, she was always cheerful and put her faith in God above everything else. She was a kind and loving mother and gave her life unsparingly to her family and those who needed her help. She leaves to mourn her loss two sons and three daughters: Mrs. Nettie Weaver, Muscotah; Mrs. Emma Pope, Valley Falls; Mrs. Ethel Eames, Whiting; and Albert and Edward of the home in Muscotah; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Sidney Woodward of Topeka. There are 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and other relatives and a host of friends who will miss her cheerful greetings. Funeral services were at the home Wednesday afternoon and she was tenderly laid to rest in the beautiful Muscotah Cemetery.
