Adams was born January 5, 1887, in the Spring Creek Community six miles from Goldendale. He died at Goldendale, July 20, 1971, after a long illness. His father and mother were Jacob Ed and Mary Kate (Short) Adams. All his life he made his home in Spring Creek where he farmed except for his service in the U.S. Armed Forces in World War I. He also spent a short time in Alaska during the Gold Rush. He was married to Hazel McCluskey at Goldendale August 9, 1952. Mr. Adams was a member of the Goldendale Grange for over forty years. He was a charter member of the Louis Leidl Post No. 116 of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of World War 1. His war service was in Siberia, and he was intensely patriotic and very proud to be of service to his country. He was a respected and hard-working man who developed a religious faith of his own. He is survived by his widow, Hazel, of Goldendale; three steps sons, David and Floyd McCluskey of Goldendale and Jack McCluskey of Montrose, Cal.; a sister-in-law, Bessie Adams of Goldendale; two nieces, Ruth Miller of Goldendale and Wilma Gallagher of Klickitat; four nephews, Harvey, Hugh, Wesley, and Ray Adams, and many friends. Funeral services were conducted at Knosher Funeral Home July 24, 1971, with the Rev. W.N. Byers officiating.
