Funeral services were held Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. August Mueller of Marengo officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Christian Mohr was born June 2, 1864, in Schlitz, Lauterbach Hessen, Germany. He was a son of George and Katherine Mohr and next to the last survivor of a family of six sons. At the age of 14 years Mr. Mohr came with his parents and brother to America and located on a farm near Sandwich, IL. Here he spent his early years helping his father on the farm and attending school during the winter months. Mr. Mohr, at the age of 21, came with his brother Phillip to Victor. After being here several years he returned to Illinois, where on March 16, 1871 he was married to Emma Ankel of Lomannank, IL. Returning to Victor, he spent the next 69 years in business and farming three miles east of this town on the old state road. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Mohr, two of them dying in infancy. Mrs. Mohr passed on Oct. 18, 1902, and a daughter Carla Cordes died Aug. 1, 1906. The children who survive are Geo. of North English, Mrs. Emma Park of Victor, Mrs. Kathryn Davis of Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. Mary Tinkle of Graettinger, Mrs. Margaret Roth of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Rose Hast of East Moline, IL, and Mrs. Lillian Doe of Piedmont, CA. In 1907 Mr. Mohr was again married, his bride at this time being Mathilde L. Reichert of Sandwich, IL who died two years ago. Mr. Mohr was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church.
