Description	:	SAATMANN, CHRISTIAN—Christian Saatmann was born to Ernest Saatmann and Louisa Schweer on September 30, 1904, at Ohiowa, and passed away on July 21, 1982, at his home in rural Ohiowa at the age of 77 years, nine months and 21 days. He was one of four children in the family. He was baptized in December of 1904 at the Grace Lutheran church of Ohiowa and joined the Tobias Community church in 1955. Read More	SAATMANN, CHRISTIAN—Christian Saatmann was born to Ernest Saatmann and Louisa Schweer on September 30, 1904, at Ohiowa, and passed away on July 21, 1982, at his home in rural Ohiowa at the age of 77 years, nine months and 21 days. He was one of four children in the family. He was baptized in December of 1904 at the Grace Lutheran church of Ohiowa and joined the Tobias Community church in 1955. He attended school at District No. 39 of Ohiowa. He was engaged in farming and also helped build the Fairmont Air Base. In 1967, due to ill health Chris had to give up farming. Chris was married to Irene Krisl of Ohiowa on December 20, 1933, and to them five children were born. His greatest joys were gardening, fishing and he had a great love for polka music. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Chris was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Ann Clark; a son-in-law, Ted Clark; and a great-grandchild, Christopher Kamler. He is survived by his wife, Irene; a son, Mervin of Ohiowa; three daughters, Mrs. Art. (Darlene) Schumacher, Mrs. Richard (Louisa) Braden, and Christine Saatmann, all of Geneva; grandchildren; a son-in-law, Clarence Clark of Grand Island; a brother, Frederick of Ohiowa; sisters, Mrs. Willard (Frieda) Hand of New Jersey and Mrs. Eleanor Hillgren of Ohiowa. Funeral services were held on July 24, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran church in Geneva. The Rev. Woodrow W. Wilson officiated the service. Mrs. Nancy Cradduck accompanied Gaylord Cradduck who sang “How Great Thou Art and “God Will Take Care of You.” Pallbearers were Louis Issler, Lloyd Burklund, Fred Stych, Dayle Dittmer, Richard Dittmer, Marvin Roit, and Joe Kaderabek. Interment was in the Geneva public cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 29 July 1982 page 17.
