He united with the United Presbyterian church several years ago and was still a member of the same faith at the time of his death. Read More	DEATH COMES SUDDENLY TO CHRIS EISHER Chris Eisher, son of Christian and Mary Eisher, was born on a farm in Poweshiek county northwest of Guernsey, October 26,1870, where he grew to manhood. He united with the United Presbyterian church several years ago and was still a member of the same faith at the time of his death. On August 20, 1900 he was united in marriage to Sadie Lane of Guernsey by the Rev. Heabner of the Moravia church. To this union three children were born. After their marriage they started farming northwest of Guernsey where they farmed for several years. They they moved into Guernsey and made their home there until three years ago when they bought a property in Victor, making their home here since. Chris, as all knew him, was a kind and devoted husband, a good father and a friend and neighbor to everyone. He was always thinking of others before himself and whenever there was sickness or death in his community, you would always see Chris there doing his share and sometimes more for the family. His health had been failing for the past few months and the end came suddenly Sunday morning, February 28 at 8 a.m. He had attained the age of 83 years, 4 months and 2 days. He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ada Wenger of Brooklyn; two sons, John of Cedar Rapids and Leo of Brooklyn, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ella Arnold of Guernsey; besides other relatives and a great many friends. His parents, four sisters and three grandchildren preceded him in death. Harold Wenger, a grandson, lost his life in World War II. Funeral services were held from the McAninch chapel Tuesday, March 2 at two o'clock, with the Rev. George S. Miller in charge, assisted by the Rev. W. J. Fowler. Two songs, "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset," were sung by Hollis Fish, with Mrs. George Keller as organist. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Ed Bushnell and Mrs. Walter Provin. Casket bearers were Will Cordes, C. L. Johnson, William Wagner, Byard Braley, John Morton and Will Schlesselman. Burial was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Victor.
