Description	:	Christian was born in Frankfurt am Main, Hessen, Germany. He came to this country with his parents, Henry and Catherine Ohlemacher,and siblings, settling in Sandusky,Ohio(Christian changed spelling to Ohlmacher). Christian was a resident of Sycamore, Illinois, for 25 years,serving as an alderman, superintendent of water works, and was prominent in Odd Fellow and Masonic circles. He began work in the hardware business in Auroa, Il, then move to Sycamore, where he was employed as a tinner, a plumber, and foreman for Capt. H.C. Whittemore, for more than 20 years. He came to this country with his parents, Henry and Catherine Ohlemacher,and siblings, settling in Sandusky,Ohio(Christian changed spelling to Ohlmacher). Christian was a resident of Sycamore, Illinois, for 25 years,serving as an alderman, superintendent of water works, and was prominent in Odd Fellow and Masonic circles. He began work in the hardware business in Auroa, Il, then move to Sycamore, where he was employed as a tinner, a plumber, and foreman for Capt. H.C. Whittemore, for more than 20 years. In 1897 he entered business for himself and later erected the fine business block adjoining the Elks Building in Sycamore, and conducted a plumbing and heating business. He married Anna Scherer, October 15, 1864, and together they had nine children, one dying young. Their eldest child, Dr. Albert Ohlmacher, died at an early age after he had gained high distinction as a bacteriologist. Another son, Dr. Joseph Christian Ohlmacher, went on to be a successful physician, and two of C.J's daughters were teachers. C.J. and his wife moved to Long Beach in the 1920s, where his daughter, Mrs. Arthur A. Ludwig, resided. (Christian is the second from the left in the photo.)
