Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Perl Bower, Asa Watts, Jacob DeLaurant, Lee Hood, Eddie Lowe and Rhinehart Scheibe. Mrs. J. C. Mrs. Victor Grossart was the pianist. After a lingering illness Christina Anne Petersen passed away Sunday, January 24, at 11:45 AM at her home here at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 14 days. She was born in Jagerspris, Sjolland, Denmark, on July 10, 1869 and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in her native land. She came to this country in 1891 when Andrew went back to get her after working in America 4 years. They were married in New York and settled on a farm near Palmyra, Nebr. In the year of 1897 they moved to a farm at Bennett, Nebr. where they resided 8 years, later moving to a farm near Wolbach. In 1919 they moved to town where they have since made their home. While she was able to be around she took much interest in her home and flowers. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and will greatly be missed by all. Mrs. Petersen was a very patient sufferer through al her illness never complaining in the 4 year and 4 months she was bedfast. Survivors include her husband, Andrew; one son, Oscar Petersen of Grand Island; one daughter, Mrs. Agnes Hansen, Wolbach; 3 grandchildren; 2 brothers and one sister in Denmark. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers also 4 grandchildren. Relatives and friends from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Petersen, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Petersen and family, Mr. Chris Casperson, Mr. Harry Casperson and Miss Minnie Casperson, all of Grand Island. Mrs. and Mrs. Elmer Petersen, Mr.and Mrs. Albert Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Noble Larson, all of St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Marius Larson, Farwell; and Mrs. Hans Fredricksen and son Ellis of Giltner.
