Description	:	Mrs. Christine Johnson was born at Westside on May 30, 1872, and passed away Thursday morning, Jan 6, having attained the age of 71 years, seven months and seven days. She had been in failing health the last six years, having had two quite severe strokes, leaving her a semi-invalid. Mrs. Johnson was baptized into the Lutheran faith in infancy. Read More	Mrs. Christine Johnson was born at Westside on May 30, 1872, and passed away Thursday morning, Jan 6, having attained the age of 71 years, seven months and seven days. She had been in failing health the last six years, having had two quite severe strokes, leaving her a semi-invalid. Mrs. Johnson was baptized into the Lutheran faith in infancy. In May 1888, she confessed her faith through the rite of confirmation at the Bethel church of Kiron. To this confession she remained true, living out the Christian faith in her daily work. On March 1, 1906, she was united in marriage to August Johnson. To this union was born three boys, one of whom died in infancy. They engaged in farming in the Ida Grove community until Mr. Johnson passed away in November of 1913; then Mrs. Johnson with her two boys moved to Ida Grove. Here she resided until the fall of 1938 when she came to live with her sister Anna Blumgren in Odebolt. She had been lovingly and tenderly cared for by Anna until her demise on Thursday morning. She leaves to mourn her departure, two sons, Arthur of Ida Grove, and Everett of Los Angeles, CA, and two grandsons; two sisters, Anna O. Blumgren of Odebolt, and Nellie Eckstrom of Sioux City, three brothers, Oscar Blumgren of Sac City, Nels Blumgren of Odebolt and John Blumgren of Logan. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the house and 2:30 at the Odebolt Lutheran church, with Pastor H. Lester Peterson officiating. Anna Anderson sand a Swedish solo, "Skall vi Motas Over Floden?" and the Rev. Arthur Marston of Ida Grove sang "Rock of Ages" and "All the Way My Savior Leads Me". Sermon, "A Great Desire" taken from Philippians 1 23. Those attending the funeral services from a distance were both sons, the Oscar Blumgren family, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Blumgren, Sac City; Mr. and Mrs. John Blumgren, Logan; Mr. and Mrs. Lennie Eckstrom, Mrs. Nellie Eckstrom, Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Gunnard Carlson, Ida Grove; Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Johnson, Arthur; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shives, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Winans, Lake View; Mr. and Mrs. Addie Anderson, Mrs. Alma Anderson, Kiron, and a host of friends fro the immediate neighborhood.
