Description	:	Christina Dorthea Neuhöfel was born in Dörpling, Dithmarschen, Holstein, the daughter of Johann Witt Neuhöfel and Dorthea [Gudenrath] Neuhöfel. She married Johann Jacob Siemsen in Dörpling on November 1, 1875. Christina and her husband Johann had already made the difficult decision to leave for America when their second child, Johann, died in Dörpling on February 20, 1881. Christina and her husband Johann had already made the difficult decision to leave for America when their second child, Johann, died in Dörpling on February 20, 1881. Her sisters, Wilhelmina, Katrina, Fredericka and Dorothea, as well as her brother, Timm, would also make the trip to America. They later moved on to Nebraska. Christina and Johann settled first in Pierce County and then in Knox County, where they raised 13 of their 15 children to adulthood. --Ditmarsia Libera Fuit-- --- Mrs. Christina Siemsen (Neuhoefel) The life of Mrs. Christina Siemsen came to a close on Friday evening at 4:30 P.M. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. M. Carter. The end came very suddenly as she had only been down town the day previous. Death was attributed to heart trouble and complications. Christina Neuhoefel was born in Germany on December 6, 1857, and died in Creighton, Nebraska on Friday, January 6, 1928 at the age of 70 years and 1 month. She was married to Johann Siemsen in Germany on November 1, 1875. This union was blessed with fifteen children, 12 of whom are living. Ed Siemsen died at the age of 15 at Pierce, Mrs. Mary Carstens at Pierce, and John Siemsen at the age of 2 1/2 years in Germany. The remaining children who are mourning the death of their mother are Mrs. John Brahms, Jireh, Wyoming; Fred Siemsen of Holden, Mo.; Mrs. John Lohr, Lusk, Wyoming; Henry Siemsen, Sebeka, Minn.; John Siemsen, Lusk, Wyoming; Mrs. Henry Krueger, Pierce, Nebraska; Mrs. Richard Rahl, Pierce, Nebr., Mrs. Conrad Larson of Creighton, Nebr.; Louis Siemsen, Pierce, Nebr.; Mrs. F. M. Carder, Creighton, Nebr.; Bennie Siemsen, Venus, Nebr.; and Mrs. Palmer Larson, Creighton, Nebr. Besides the children, one sister, Mrs. Hans Lemburg, Farewell, Nebr., survives. Mr. and Mrs. Siemsen came to America in the year 1881 and settled on a farm in Howard County, Nebraska. Here they resided for a period of four years, removing then to Scott County, Iowa, where they lived on a farm for ten years. Mr. and Mrs. Siemsen came to Pierce County in 1898 and again took up their home on a farm, and later moved to Knox County. In the year 1915 her husband died on a farm near Center. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Siemsen has been making her home with her children in this vicinity. She was of the Lutheran Faith and a communicant member of the local Zion's Church, which also administered the last rites. Mrs. Siemsen was a devoted mother and leaves a large number of friends in Creighton who will deeply mourn her passing. She was kind and considerate and was always willing to help her neighbors in time of need. Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran Church on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 by Rev. Obermeyer, the pastor, and the remains were interred in the Greenwood Cemetery beside her husband. The Church was filled with friends of the deceased who came to pay final respect to this beloved mother, and the floral offerings were many and beautiful.
