Mrs. Holder was taken violently ill on Friday afternoon at near one o'clock while at the home of Joseph Holder, north of town, where a number of relatives had gathered for the day. Mrs. Holder was taken violently ill on Friday afternoon at near one o'clock while at the home of Joseph Holder, north of town, where a number of relatives had gathered for the day. Her husband made haste to take her to their home, and Dr. Thurston the family physician, summoned, and found her suffering from peritonitis, and beyond all help. A short time before Mrs. Holder's death, she received the holy anointing of the German Baptist church, of which organization she was a member, the ordinance being administered by Elders Lewis Teeter and Levi Dilling. Mrs. Holder leaves a husband and two daughters, Mrs. Cassie Stout and Mrs. Bessie Dilling, and step-son, Levi Holder. Mrs. Holder was born 82 years ago on the farm now owned by John Stonebraker, and for many years the property of Andress Wiggins. Her father was john Ulrich who purchased the farm where Mrs. Holder was born, and where Mr. Ulrich and family lived for several years, of the government. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, at 10:30 o'clock, where Elders Lewis Teeter and Abram Bowman officiated. The pallbearers were: William Replogle, Milton stout, Elder Levi Dilling, Jeff Pressel, Horace Hoover and Joseph Howard. Interment was made in the church cemetery." Hagerstown (IN) Exponent, Thursday, Jan. 30, 1908 "Christena, daughter of John and Catharine Ulrich, was born on the farm now owned by John Stonebraker, one half mile west of Hagerstown, Ind., Oct. 2, 1825, and died at her home, one mile west of Hagerstown, January 18, 1908, at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 16 days. On Nov. 5, 1857, she was married to Bro. David Holder, with whom she lived a prosperous life. they lived part of the time since in Delaware and Henry counties, Ind., but for the last thirty-four years they lived where she died. There were born to them two daughters, Catharine and Elizabeth Ann, whom they were permitted to raise to womanhood. These, together with a step-son, whom she always nurtured and treated as her own child, constituted their family. She had been in feeble health for a number of years. Her last illness was attended with intense pain and suffering, which terminated in death after the brief period of only thirty-six hours. In the midst of her suffering she called for the holy anointing of James 5:14, which was duly administers, greatly to her comfort and consolation. She was conscious until death, among her last words she said, first to her husband: 'O! I hate to leave you!' Later, she said: 'Lord Jesus, come and take me.' Then, soon, she was gone. Truly, 'weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.' Sister Holder possessed in a high degree that excellent quality of a kindly disposition and a countenance of sunshine wherever she went. She was kind to all; good tot he poor and needy. She will be greatly missed, not only in her family, but in the neighborhood and in the church. She leaves her husband, two brothers, George and Martin Ulrich, two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Stout and Mrs. D. O. Dilling, and Mr. Levi Holder of Anderson, Ind., and her step-granddaughters, Mrs. Clara Ulrich of Wenatchee, Washington, who had lived in her home fourteen years and whom she had regarded as her own child, and two grandchildren to mourn her departure."
