Description	:	Christine was born in Washington D.C. to Keith R. and Brigitte (Foerderer) Newsom, residents of nearby Maryland. Her father was born in Nebraska, her mother in Germany. She was the youngest of their three children. When Christine was eight years old she moved with her parents and siblings to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She enjoyed sports and became a member of her high school volleyball team. She also loved music and hiking in the mountains. Read More	Christine was born in Washington D.C. to Keith R. and Brigitte (Foerderer) Newsom, residents of nearby Maryland. Her father was born in Nebraska, her mother in Germany. She was the youngest of their three children. When Christine was eight years old she moved with her parents and siblings to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She enjoyed sports and became a member of her high school volleyball team. She also loved music and hiking in the mountains. She graduated from Eldorado high school in 1980 and completed work on a bachelor of science degree at the University of New Mexico in 1984. Christine's early accomplishments were all the more remarkable because while she was still in middle school and high school her mother became more and more incapacitated from the ravages of Huntington's disease. Her mother died in 1984 at age 50. Unfortunately Christine inherited the gene for Huntington's disease--an illness for which there is no cure and which invariably results in an early death. During her long illness Christine demonstrated great courage and good humor, but the disease is debilitating, cruel and relentless in destroying both mind and body. Christine was cremated. Later in June 2010 a family celebration of her life was held at the Presbyterian church in North Bend, Nebraska. This was followed by a brief ceremony at Woodland cemetery where her ashes were interred and a gravestone dedicated. * * *
