Description	:	Christopher was the second son born to "Chris" and Christina Klintwood Buehrig in Bremervorde, Germany, near Hamburg. (The 1910 and 1920 Nebraska censuses report his full name as Adolph H. C. Buehrig.) Chris was married around 1900 in Germany to Emma W Bruns. Their first child, Anita was born in Germany in 1901. A letter from their niece in Germany recalls seeing them leave with baby Anita in her mother's arms. According to the letter, Chris and William avoided the horrors and sorrow of the war the rest of their families survived. Future letters... Future letters were found, thanking them for the packages they sent to the surviving family in war-torn Germany. By 1903 Chris and Emma decided to come to the United States, joining his older brother Wilhelm (William, memorial #95566070). There were apparently other siblings that chose to stay in Germany. Sadly Chris and William lost their wives much too young. Chris' wife Emma died at the age of 39 years, she left Chris with five of their children. Anita, the oldest, had already moved away from home. The last name was spelled Buehrig originally. Some of the family changed and some kept the original spelling. It appears handsome Chris was an interesting person. Unfortunately I did not meet him. He was the brother of my great uncle William Buhrig.
