He had been seriously ill for the past week. Lanam, 67, spent nearly all of his life in the Fairfield area. He was employed by the Louden Machinery Co. for almost 25 years prior to his retirement. Lanam was born June 16, 1883 at Mt. Sterling, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Ellen Lanam. He was married to Alverda Winter (sic. a/k/a Addie Winter)* and to them were born the following children, all of whom survive: Roy Lanam, Stockport; Mrs. Eva Havner, Davenport; Mrs. Corrine Hoskins, Fairfield; Mrs. Leota Kunce, Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Mabel Dickinson, Bettendorf. He later married Marian Byers on November 15, 1927. His widow and two children also survive: Barbar Lanam (sic) and Charles Lanam, Fairfield. Other survivors are one sister, Mrs. Bert Jay, Ottumwa, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One brother and two sisters are deceased. Lanam was a member of the Mt.
