Read More	Christopher James Kaska passed away peacefully on January 22, 2012 at age 43 of renal cell carcinoma.Born on Mother's Day in Bellevue, WA, May 12, 1968, he was a gift to his mother whom he dearly loved. Chris was the middle child of 6 children. He loved his family and had a special bond with his brother Mark.Chris graduated from Holy Family grade school and Eastside Catholic High School 1986. While attending high school he took classes pursuing his interest in Horticulture.Chris's joy was owning his own business "Tall and Small Trees" for 20 years before illness took away his ability to perform his job. He mentioned frequently how much he missed his work and interaction with his customers whom he adored.His passions included gardening, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. Chris was proud of his many pumpkins he grew this past Fall. He was following in the footsteps of his father who was a gardener and had a huge pumpkin patch each fall, including this past year. He loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them. His dog James was his ever faithful and loving companion. Chris loved people and had many friends. He will be remembered as the gentle giant with a smile that would light up any room. He was admired for his strength and courage in battling an extremely painful illness. Chris loved helping others less fortunate than himself. He lived his life to do for others and would give the shirt off his back to those in need. In his last 6 weeks when he was unable to walk, he mentioned often that it was helping and doing for others that he missed the most. His warm and loving presence, infectious laugh, sense of humor and big bear hugs will be greatly missed.Chris is survived by his son Matthew Reed; his mother Karen Kaska; 5 siblings, Rebecca Kaska, Andrew Kaska, Mark Kaska, Jennifer Bone, and Kevin Kaska; and his stepson Calub Shoulders. He was preceded in death by his father James Kaska whom he greatly respected and admired. He passed away recently in October 2011.Special thanks to dear friend and caretaker Karen Cash, best friend Evelyn Cash, Mike Forland and Mike Ramsey ("Big Mike and Little Mike"), his housemates for the past 2 years and to Evergreen Hospice for their wonderful care and the nurses he adored. Remembrances may be made in Chris's name to Evergreen Hospice 12822 124th Lane NE, Kirkland, WA 98034.
