Mrs. Dygert had come to Beaver Crossing with her parents in a covered wagon 70 years ago. She was the last charter member of the Rebekah lodge of Beaver Crossing. Funeral arrangements were in the charge of the Volland Mortuary. Mrs. Chryssie Dygert daughter of James F. and Eunice Stonecypher, was born May 9, 1863 in Hartsvile, Indiana. Traveling by covered wagon at the age of 16 she moved with her parents to Beaver Crossing. She married Pierce Dygert September, 1884 and they had five children. Mr. Dygert was a rural mail carrier for many years and was custodian of the Beaver Crossing school one year. He preceded her in death in 1924. Mrs. Dygert was a member of the Methodist Church of Beaver Crossing and the last charter member of the Rebekah Lodge of Beaver Crossing. She died of a heart attack in her home at 2 p.m., July 16, 1949 at the age of 86 years. Surviving are her son, Logan of Exeter; her daughters, Mrs. Iva Robbins of San Francisco; Mrs. Fern Danskin of Lincoln; Mrs. Eva McHale of Seward and Mrs. Eunice Kisker of Los Angeles; her sister, Mrs. Zella Harris of Topeka, Kansasa; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist Church. Burial was in the Beaver Crossing Cemetery. Pall bearers were Roy Huffman, George Sieman, Oliver Bissey, Frank Hubertus, G. C. Hampp and William Miller. Mrs. George Danskin sang, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Ahlschwede. The Rebekah Lodge had charge of the service.
