Read More	footstones: Grandpa, Father, Mother, Carillo James Simeon Stonecypher Obit James Simeon Stonecypher was born at Corydon, Indiana, July 13, 1834 and died at his home in Beaver Crossing*, Nebr., June 7th, 1925, at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 24 days. He was one of a family of eleven children. He was united in marriage to Eunice J. Wright, of Columbus, Ind., Nov. 4, 1860. To this union were born four children, Chryssie, Carillo, Courtland and Mazella. His early life was a struggle to obtain an education. Until he was seventeen years of age, he had only three months of schooling but his evenings were spent in study by the light of burning chips in the fireplace. Fourteen years later he occupied the chair of Mathematics in Hartsville University of which he was an alumnus. Thirty years were spent in his chosen profession in which he rose to a high rank as an educator. Ill health forced him to abandon his profession and he engaged in farming. In the fall of 1879 he moved to Seward County,' Nebr., and located on a farm north of Beaver Ctiy, Nebr., and came back to Beaver Crossing in the fall of 1920, where he resided until his death.
