Description	:	RAVENNA — Cindy J. Peterson, 58, of Ravenna died of cancer Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at her home. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Freedom Baptist Church in Stamford with the Rev. Bobby Johnston officiating. Inurnment will be at Stamford Cemetery. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Cindy Peterson was born Aug. 21, 1958, in Albion to Howard and Joyce (Bose) Ommert. She attended grade school in Orleans and later attended Holdrege High School where she graduated with the class of 1976. Cindy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at age 15. She married Bruce E. Peterson in 1978. To this union two daughters were born, Michelle and Allison. Cindy enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and felt blessed to be able to do so. She later worked in the Arapahoe Public School lunch room for six years and at Medicine Creek Lodge for four years. Cindy loved spending time at Harry Strunk Lake with her family, camping, boating and skiing. Many outings to the lake were spent teaching nieces, nephews and friends how to water ski. She also enjoyed looking for Indian relics and walks along the beach. She enjoyed being out in nature, planting flowers and especially enjoyed the birds. She also liked snowmen and making snow angels, but nothing brought her more joy than her granddaughter, Summer. Survivors include her daughters, Michelle Peterson of Kearney and Allison and her husband, Aaron Palik, and their daughter, Summer Rae Palik, all of Lincoln; brother, Randy Ommert and wife Jennifer of Axtell; special friend, Dennis Joslin of Ravenna; Bruce Peterson of Omaha; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Danny Ommert.
