Read More	CHRISTIANCY, CLAIR CLIFFORD JR.—Clair Clifford Christiancy Jr. was born to Clair Clifford Christiancy Sr. and Edna Wolter Christiancy on November 29, 1927, at Chelsea Township, Fillmore county, and passed away February 23, 1990, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 62 years, 2 months and 25 days. He was one of five children in the family. Clair attended District 76 Country School and graduated from Geneva High with the Class of 1945. On September 12, 1948, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Lynn at the Congregational Church in Geneva. To this union were born four children, Karen, Diane, Jo Ann and Clair III. He farmed the land which has been in the Lynn family for over 100 years. Clair and Marilyn retired from farming and moved to Geneva in the spring of 1989. Clair was an active member in this church, and past-president of the Fillmore County Extension Board, and a past Master of the Geneva Community Grange. His father, Clair Sr. and sister, Ardith Schmid, preceded him in death. Surviving him are his wife, Marilyn; daughters and sons-in-law, Robert and Karen Kohler, Larry and Diane Heath, Dan and Jo Ann Vavra, and son Clair III; six grandchildren, Amanda and Christopher Kohler, Douglas and Lyndsey Heath and Kelly and Corey Vavra. He is also survived by his mother, Edna; a sister, Evelyn Volf, brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodger and Shirley and Robert and Kaye. Clair will long be remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was most proud of his grandchildren. “If we would have known how much fun grandkids were, we would have had them first.” He also enjoyed attending actions, hunting and fishing. Taking his restored antique tractor and his grandkids through the local parades also brought him great pleasure. Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Monday, February 26, with the Rev. Brenda Barnes Jamieson officiating. Mrs. Evalyn Foster accompanied Curt Prater, who sang “Amazing Grace” and “Take My Hand Precious Lord.” Pallbearers were Steve Betka, Richard Christiancy, Lambert Hopken, Darrel Hughes, Blaine Richards, Rodger Richards and Leonard Sluka.
