Description	:	Clair L. Crider, 67, died at 10:02 p.m. July 26, 2009, at his residence. He was born June 13, 1942, in Allen County to Darrell A. and Alta Mae Laman Crider, who preceded him in death. On July 12, 1964, he married Diane Swaim, who survives in Lima. Mr. Crider accepted Jesus as his savior 43 years ago and will spend eternity in heaven. He had worked at Lima Register, Dietrich Inc., Warner Swasey, all in Lima, Monarch Machines, Sidney, and several other places before retiring in April 2008 from Grob Systems, Bluffton. He was a ballroom dance instructor for a time. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Lima, and FOE Aerie 691, Wapakoneta. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199, Lima. He enjoyed genealogy research, ballroom dancing, traveling, golfing and making heirloom toy boxes for his grandchildren. The very center of his life was his love for his family. His sense of humor will be remember and greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Survivors also include a sister, Carol A. Crider, of Lima; a son, Brian S. (Kristina) Crider, of Van Wert; two daughters, Lisa R. (Keith) Smith, of Pemberville, and Rhonda L. (Charles) Scher, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; six grandchildren, Alicia Crider, Nathan, Jared Gavin and Clarissa Smith and Cameron Scher; four stepgrandchildren, Chelsea Gephart and Austin, Dakota and Devin Nickols; and a great-granddaughter, Meghan Wilson. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley A. and Lowell W. Crider. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. David Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice or Elm Street Church of the Brethren, 619 E. Elm St., Lima, OH 45804.
