Description	:	He was born February 2, 1892, the first child of Thomas and Emma Latta of Viroqua, Wis. When he was a young man the family moved to Victor, Iowa, where his father operated a lumber yard. Here he received his high school education, and later worked in his father's lumber yard. During World War I he served in the army and was stationed at Camp Pike, Ark. He belonged to the American Legion post at Early. Following the war he worked in a drug store at Sioux Rapids. Here he married Ruth Johnson and their first son, Russell, was born. Later he attended Highland Park School of Pharmacy at Des Moines, from where he was graduated in 1922.
