Description	:	Clara Anderson Hovde, 93, of Valley City, died January 2, 1999 at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. Private family services will be conducted at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Interment will be in Memory Gardens in the spring. Clara Amelia Anderson was born June6, 1905 at Fingal, the daughter of John and Karen Anderson. Clara attended the Normal School in Valley City. On May 26, 1924, she married Germund Hovde in Moorhead. They lived on a farm near Fingal while Germund worked for the County Highway Department. Clara Amelia Anderson was born June6, 1905 at Fingal, the daughter of John and Karen Anderson. Clara attended the Normal School in Valley City. On May 26, 1924, she married Germund Hovde in Moorhead. They lived on a farm near Fingal while Germund worked for the County Highway Department. They later moved to Valley City. Germund died in 1964. Clara worked at Land O’Lakes, and the American Café in Valley City. She moved in with her daughter, Lois in 1988, where she lived until her death. Clara enjoyed her life with Lois and her family. Her hobbies included crosswords, embroidery, ??, and playing cards and games with her family. She is survived by her children, Lois Brendmoen, Valley City, Gene (Marla) Hovde, Lexington, SC, Mavis (Bill) Kukes, West Fargo and JoAnn Trelstad, Dazey; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sons, two grandsons; two sisters, Martha Anderson and Annie Lahlum and three brothers, Vernon Anderson, Maurice Anderson and Peter Anderson.
