On June 24, 1917, mom was born in a two room log house between Park City and Laurel. She was the third of nine children born to George Besel and Elizabeth Fox Besel. Her father worked on various farms around Wyoming, Montana, and Washington while she was growing up. After living in Farmer, Wash., for some time, the George Besel family moved back to Montana and farmed in Laurel. On April 14, 1940, Clara Besel and George Kammerzell were united in marriage and raised three children: a son, Arlen and daughters Sharon and Bobbi. George passed away in 1976 after open heart surgery. Mom managed to run the household on her own until she went to Valley Health Care Center in February 2011. There were not many things that she could not or did not do. She was still mowing the lawn at the age of ninety. Her main job was being a mother and homemaker. The only other job she ever had was at American Linen in the 1960-70's. Mom loved her yard and flowers and spent many hours making her home the most beautiful on the block. In her spare time she would croquet, knit, quilt and cross stitch. Everyone in the family including all the grandkids have afghans, quilts, doilies and cross stitch. Her hands were never still. She liked to read and crossword puzzles were a challenge. Mom was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church all her life. She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was always there if any of us needed help of any kind. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George; grandsons: Don Dedman, and Rick Dedman; brothers: Herman (Helen), Reuben (Mary), Jack (Donna), Leroy (Gladys), and Jacob; sisters: Lydia Besel, Esther (Dave) Wagner, Betty (John) Mohr. She is survived by children: Sharon (Emil) Koliha, Arlen (Yvonne) Kammerzell, Barbara (Milton) Kramlick; grandsons: Roy and Gary Dedman, Arnie Kammerzell, Kevin Kramlick; granddaughters: Anique Albrecht, Terra Scherr, Larae Kramlick; 14 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Mary Besel, Gladys Besel, Donna Besel; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all the staff at Valley for taking good care of mom. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. If mothers were flowers, we would pick you.... We love you and will miss you always. Visitations begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Smith Downtown Chapel, 925 South 27th Street and prior to services at Trinity Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church at 537 Grand Ave.
