MORGAN HEDGE Clara Brainard Hedge, beloved wife of Morgan Hedge, died at the family home in Oketo last Saturday after a lingering illness. Mrs. Hedge was 62 years, 8 months and 2 days old at the time of her death. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Oketo, being conducted by Rev. B. W. Hugg, pastor of the M. E. church of this city and interment was made in the Marysville cemetery. Clara Brainard was born December 26, 1863, at Lynder, Lewis county, N. Y. She came to Kansas with her family in 1881. On December 13, 1883, she was united in marriage to Morgan Hedge. On October 1 she would have lived 39 years in her present home. Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hedge, two daughters who have passed on, and one son, Earl. She is survived by her husband, Earl, her mother Mrs. Mary Brainard and three sisters. Mrs. Hedge had a wide circle of friends in Marshall county, who knew and loved her well. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a sincere friend to all. The Advocate-Democrat joins with the many friends of the family in extending sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
