The funeral will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 2 o'clock. The deceased has been a resident of Marshall county since 1881. For the first eight years of his residence in this county he was engaged in business until within the last few weeks. He has been suffering with consumption for some time but his energy and strong will power has kept him up until three weeks ago when he had to give up and go to bed. He knew then that his days were numbered but he was cheerful and resigned. He was a man of sterling integrity and was very popular in the community. He had often been honored by his neighbors by election to office in the city and school district. At the time of his death he was mayor and his administration had been a successful and popular one.
