Burt died at her home east of town last Tuesday morning. The sad news came to her friends as a shock, for while she had been sick, yet she was not at all considered dangerous. She suddenly took a turn for the worse and all that medical skill and careful nursing could do was done, but of no avail. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church, Thursday at 11 o'clock by Rev. E.C. Thorpe. Burial was made in the Creighton cemetery. Clara Emily Beem, was born in Tama county, Iowa, September 10, 1884. She moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Beem to Knox county in 1892. She was married to W.C. Burt, February 24, 1904. She leaves a little babe, a husband, father, mother and two brothers to mourn her death. She had many warm friends, who respected and honored her for her many fine womanly qualities. It is indeed sad that one so young and promising should be taken away. but "God's will be done".
