Burt, who passed away at the Plainview hospital Wednesday, July 16, were conducted last Friday afternoon at the First Methodist church in Creighton, with the Rev. H.F. Beebe, pastor, officiating. Pallbearers were A.L. Smith, Joe Dobry, True Carder, Ivan Copeland, J.A. McCarter and Austin King. William C. Read More	William C. Burt, 77, Passes Away July 16 Funeral services for William C. Burt, who passed away at the Plainview hospital Wednesday, July 16, were conducted last Friday afternoon at the First Methodist church in Creighton, with the Rev. H.F. Beebe, pastor, officiating. Pallbearers were A.L. Smith, Joe Dobry, True Carder, Ivan Copeland, J.A. McCarter and Austin King. William C. Burt, son of John L. and Jane Rea Burt, was born Jan. 28, 1875 at Melroy, Macon county, Ill. When he was seven years old he came with his parents to Knox county where he spent the rest of his life. On Feb. 24, 1904 he was united in marriage to Miss Clara E. Beem. To this union two children were born, Hazel and John. His wife passed away in December, 1905. Hazel died in infancy and John was killed in an automobile accident on Mar. 4, 1945. In April 1917 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Martha Lindsey Winters. Mr. Burt was a member of the Methodist church and was a charter member of the Odd Fellows lodge here. He is survived by his wife, Martha; five children, Dorrine, William, George, James and Robert; two stepchildren, Forest Winters and Dr. Vera Mae Batchelder; 18 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, George and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Miles.
