DIED —Etta Vance, Oct. 24, 1897, of tubercular meningitis, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Vance, north of town, aged 28 years, 3 month and 7 days. Etta Vance was born and reared in Harrison township, and had a quiet, pleasant disposition that made friends of all with whom she came in contact. She has been an invalid for same time and although her death was not entirely unexpected, it was a severe shock to her large circle of friends. Etta Vance was born and reared in Harrison township, and had a quiet, pleasant disposition that made friends of all with whom she came in contact. Mr. and Mrs. Vance have the sympathy of the entire community in this their irreparable loss. One sister survives her, the older one, Jessie, having died some six years ago. The funeral was held at the M.E. church of this place and was largely attended from all sections of the surrounding country. The Rev. Van Winkle officiating.
