She was left an orphan at the age of 12 years. Clara later made her home with Mr. and Mrs John Collingwood of Pretty Prairie, Kas, in whose home she resided until her marriage to Andrew Wylie of Humboldt, Kas on December 26, 1930, at Pineville, Mo. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Rev. A.R. Wylie, pastor of the Pilgrim Hoiliness Church of Humboldt ; one brother, Lawrence F. Hofflinger, of Kansas City, Mo, and a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Wylie was converted in the Pilgrim Holiness Church at Humboldt, November 12, 1933 and a few weeks later was sanctified and joined the Pilgrim church in August 1934. She was a devoted wife and an ardent church worker. While Mrs. Wylie was very low and near death she prayed a number of times, mostly for the souls of her loved ones and friends. Just a few hours before she passed away she quoted from Psalms 51:17 which reads in its entirety, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God thou wilt not dispise. Sister Wylie was a faithful and devoted wife. She felt her calling was to be a helpmate for her husband. Before she was married, she was unable to sing or play, but after praying, God gave her talent for singing and playing and she used it to the glory of God. Her only desire was to recover and to help her husband in his life's calling, the ministry. She was a patient sufferer and left a clear testimony of saving and sanctifying grace of God. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Pilgrim Holiness Church, with the Rev. E.W.Burton, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church of Wichita in charge. He was assisted by Rev. J.J, Isgrigg of the Fall River Pilgrim Holiness Church. Music was furnished by Rev. and Mrs. Griffin of Toronto, who sang the hymns. They were accompanied at the piano by Martin Kaufman.
