She had undergone surgery for the amputation of a leg, but was doing well and her passing was unexpected. She had been ill 26 days. Read More	FOX, CLARA IDA—Mrs. Clara Fox of Geneva passed away at a Lincoln hospital Thursday, October 22, 1970, aged 83 years, 3 months and 20 days. She had undergone surgery for the amputation of a leg, but was doing well and her passing was unexpected. She had been ill 26 days. Clara Ida Fox was born July 2, 1887, to William and Etta Schroeder, pioneer settlers near Fairmont, Neb. She was married to Edgbert Fox and they farmed a good many years in Fillmore county. They retired and moved to Geneva about 1926. Mr. Fox died in 1943. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Frank and Charles, and two sisters, Anna Aldrup and Emma McKibben, who passed away September 8, 1970, at the age of 93. She is survived by nephews and nieces. She was a member of the congregational United Church of Christ and of the Women’s Society. She was a member and secretary of the Merry Mixers Kensington. She liked to travel and made trips to many sections of the United States. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 10 a. m. Tuesday, October 27. Rev. Delano Spitzer officiated. Mrs. Alvin Rizer sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “In the Garden.” Mrs. Melvin Olson was accompanist. Pallbearers were Melvin Ralston, Louis Domeier, Milton Fehr, Ronald Fox, Guy Leonard and Henry Fehr Jr. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Prentice H. Barker, David W. Riehle and Mrs. Isabelle Hall were her to attend the last rites. The Nebraska Signal 29 October 1970 page 5.
