Description	:	SCHRODER, WILLIAM—William Schroder was born April 27, 1845, in the province of Hanover, Germany, and died of heart failure at Geneva, Neb., June 28, 1917, aged 72 years, 2 months, and 1 day. Read More	SCHRODER, WILLIAM—William Schroder was born April 27, 1845, in the province of Hanover, Germany, and died of heart failure at Geneva, Neb., June 28, 1917, aged 72 years, 2 months, and 1 day. When twenty years of age, Mr. Schroder left Germany and came to Morgan county, Illinois, where he remained a few years. From there he moved to Fillmore county, Nebraska, settling on a farm four and one-half miles southeast of Fairmont. Here he remained until fourteen years ago, when he removed to Geneva city, where he had since resided. He was married to Miss Etta Schneider of Geneva in 1875. To this union six children were born, five of whom are now living the other having died in infancy. The children, who with their mother, remain to mourn the loss of husband and father are Frank W. Schroder of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Emma Barnhardt of Edgar, Neb.; Mrs. Anna Aldrup of Alpine, Ore.; Charles G. Schroder of the Fourth United States cavalry; and Mrs. Clara Fox of Geneva. Mr. Schroder was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Germany and never united with any other church, always remaining loyal to the church of his fathers. He left the farm because of ill health, but has been much improved since. He had not been felling quite as well as common lately, and proposed going to Omaha to consult a specialist soon, but went about his customary activities as usual, so little was thought about it. His sudden death from heart failure at about 4:30 Thursday afternoon came as a distinct shock to his relatives and friends, who have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement. The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. from the Congregational church Monday. Rev. B.A. Warren officiating. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal July 5th, 1917 page 3.
