She had been in poor health for the past three years. She was born March 28, 1896 near Reno, south of Cumberland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity south of Cumberland and was married to Chalres Mullen in Atlantic, May 18, 1913. She had lived in the vicinity south of Cumberland and Massena all her life. She had been in poor health for the past three years. She was born March 28, 1896 near Reno, south of Cumberland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity south of Cumberland and was married to Chalres Mullen in Atlantic, May 18, 1913. She had lived in the vicinity south of Cumberland and Massena all her life. She was a member of the Victoria Methodist church and later transferred to the Massena Methodist church. She leaves her husband and eight children: Mrs. Gladys Paulsen of Atlantic; Darwin of Mt. Etna; Carl of Massena; Charles of Cumberland; Gene of Corning; Mrs. Marilyn Raasch of Bridgewater; Joyce and Eldon Mullen at home; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Joe and Ted Johnson of Atlantic; James Johnson of Wiota; and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Erickson of Cumberland and Mrs. Laura Bindt of Peetz, Colorado. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Atha Johnson and Mrs. Anna Starlin. Mrs. Mullen will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness was always ready to lend a helping hand to those who needed it, and no task was too great or too small for her to undertake. She was a very devoted wife and mother and she had done all that loving hands could do to make a happy home for them. Her grandchildren were a source of joy to her and she will be greatly missed by her family, her relatives and her friends. Memorial services were held Sunday afternoon at the Massena Methodist church with the Rev. Joseph Mason officiating. Musical selections "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden" were rendered by Arthur Taylor, Wray Wollenhaupt, Mrs. Mildred Follman and Mrs. Louise Platt, with Mrs. Phyllis Vetterick, organist. Casket bearers were Ralph Davis, Glen Eblen, Ralph Krauth, Noel Waters, Harold Cooley, and Earl Mills. In charge of flowers were Mrs. Goldie Davis and Mrs. Mildred Westphal. Interment was in Victoria cemetery, south of Massena.
