Description	:	Clara Sampson, 104, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Wakonda Heritage Manor in Wakonda, South Dakota. Clara was born March 28, 1912 in Alexandria, South Dakota to Carl and Elizabeth (Huether) Lang. She married Henry Sampson on December 31, 1936 in LeMars, Iowa. To this union, Donna and Ronald were born. They raised their family on Sampson farm until 1959 before moving to Vermillion. Henry preceded her in death on May 1, 1983 in Sioux City, Iowa. Clara was born March 28, 1912 in Alexandria, South Dakota to Carl and Elizabeth (Huether) Lang. She married Henry Sampson on December 31, 1936 in LeMars, Iowa. To this union, Donna and Ronald were born. They raised their family on Sampson farm until 1959 before moving to Vermillion. Henry preceded her in death on May 1, 1983 in Sioux City, Iowa. Clara worked at the University and Sorority House in Vermillion for numbers of years.Clara always had homemade cookie bars, pies baked ready to serve with coffee. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was a hard worker, She loved working in her garden and enjoying her flowers. She took pride in all she did and always loved caring for her family. She lived in her own home until 2012 at her age of 100 before she moved in with her daughter, Donna and her husband, Harvey in Yankton until 2014. She later moved to Wakonda Heritage Manor Home. Clara was a lifelong member of Dalesburg Baptist Church and was involved in her church activities. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Harvey) Grebin, of Yankton, South Dakota and her son, Ronald (Flora) Sampson, of Vermillion; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
