She was born Feb. 8, 1907, in Nolan, S.D., to Bernard and Edna Orman Buchholz. A resident of the Ottumwa area most of her life, she had lived the past 20 years in Cedar Falls. Read More	Obituary From “The Ottumwa Courier,” July 4, 1988: Clara Hopkins Clara L. “Toots” Hopkins, 81, of Cedar Falls, died at 11 a.m. July 1, 1988, at her home. She was born Feb. 8, 1907, in Nolan, S.D., to Bernard and Edna Orman Buchholz. A resident of the Ottumwa area most of her life, she had lived the past 20 years in Cedar Falls. She was a practical nurse, having worked at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Centerville and the Western Home in Cedar Falls. She was a member of the Rebekahs in Centerville. She married Francis Hopkins July 3, 1926, in Ottumwa. He died Feb. 19, 1969. She is survived by three sons, George of Alaska, Bernard of Coperas Cove, Texas, and Lawrence of Houston; a daughter, Rose Marie Myers of Centerville; eight grandchildren; five sisters, Agnes Arendt of Ottumwa, Olive Wilson and Dorothy Gray of Alberque [sic], N.M., Bonnie Snooks of Holton, Kan., and Pat Olson of Columbus, Texas; five brothers, Floyd Buccholz [sic] of Ottumwa, Ernest Buccholz [sic] of Agency, Les Buchholz of Cape Coral, Fla., Don Buchholz of Firth, Idaho, and Gene Buchholz of Fort Morgan, Colo. She was preceded in death by a son, Carl. The service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Wilbert Trusheim of Willard Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
